Mid

"A picture used to be a sum of additions. In my case a picture is a sum of destructions. I do a picture - then I destroy it. In the end though, nothing is lost; the red I took away from one space turns up somewhere else." Picasso

the adventure starts
To enjoy the adventure you have to let your mind flow... enjoying the sense of dividing space with colour (usually 2, 3 - mostly natural browns and greens)... making sure to let "accidents" happen - this oppens the doors to the world of imagination.

first impressions starting to show
At this point I like to start defining a bit my vision - never too much! It is important to give ourselves a sense of direction while keeping as many other possibilities open.

New Beginings
The breaking has to be radicall: either in white or in black. White is wonderful because it becomes the under-light for future colour! I break with 2 thoughts in mind:
¤ to isolate, and make clearer
¤ simply to give myself a "new begining"

Cool colours and warm ones are interesting as I create a sense of foreground - background - always playing with the idea of not being rational or logical, but true to my composition!
Taking Risks is fundamental... and as the idea develops it becomes more and more difficult - how do I invite more chaos and surprise to my piece when I am quite happy with how it looks?

Letting your thoughts GROW
Mid is deffinitely not ready yet... but to keep on working on it would mean to increase the chance of staying too fixed to some ideas. Time is essential in order to see new possibilities and fresh ways of approaching the piece.
More will be comming! ;)

Tradition: Picasso

Different artists inspire me at different times... Picasso does so allways!

"La Modelo"

"An art with life in it does not reproduce the glories of the past; it continues them" Hodini (1972):"Modern art & the modern mind".

"Daynight dance triplette"

"Dancing Girl"

The artist has to be strong enough to create something from the past, instead of plainly immitating it."Not to be strong enough to withstand an influence without weakening is proof of impotence! Flam (1995):"Matisse on art"
